Meet the Speaker, Anthony Reed
In 2013 Anthony (Ant) started traveling what he likes to call the Kidney trails when he was diagnosed with ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease) and started dialysis. During his time on dialysis, Anthony started searching for stories and lessons that were written and by others. In his quest to find these stories he found very few stories written and even fewer lessons taught. It was then he determined that one day he would write about his own journey and start to share his story on a national level through public speaking and writing. Since then he has received a kidney transplant in 2017, started to work a biomedical equipment technician in dialysis, served on advisory boards for non-profits such as NKF and AAKP, has shared his story and the lessons it has taught him throughout the world and is currently serving the Governor of Virginia as a councilman for the Renal Disease Counsel.
