Designed, developed, and implemented programs for chronic kidney disease (CKD Stages 1-5 [including end-stage renal disease or ESRD]), acute kidney injury (AKI), liver dialysis, renal transplant services and full-service pheresis for pediatric patients (neonates to young adults in transition to adult care), women and their families at a large pediatric hospital.
Goals:
To create a center of excellence in pediatric nephrology care; vascular access; and palliative care with particular emphasis on excellence in those nursing specialties; and to apply lessons learned from evidence-based practice outcomes to mold international standards and guidelines.
To incorporate the full spectrum of the arts in healthcare settings, including design, visual, performing and literary arts, resulting in programs and healthcare environments that are healing for patients and their families.
To advance the profession of nursing.
