RHA Committees & Volunteer Opportunities

The Renal Healthcare Association fulfills its mission through education, advocacy, and services supporting renal healthcare excellence.  We believe in the power of collective action and the strength of our RHA community. To continue to fulfill our mission, we invite passionate and dedicated members to join our committees.

Why Volunteer?

Eligibility

  • Committee participation is open to all members - Active, Associate, Affiliate, and Corporate Partner.
  • Volunteers will commit to serving on the committee for 2-years, starting January 8, 2024. 
  • Volunteer commitment is estimated at 3-7 hours a month. Meeting schedules will be determined once committee rosters are finalized based on the group's availability.

Volunteer Opportunities

In alignment with our Strategic Plan, below are the current RHA Committees:

  • Advocacy Committee: Volunteers work on continued advocacy engagement opportunities for RHA members in alignment with RHA’s key principles and strategy. 

  • Quality Committee: Volunteers will focus on ESRD, QIP, QAPI, Regulatory, and Legislative items. This includes a full review and update to the RHA QAPI Tool.

  • Education Program Committee: This committee will enhance educational offerings by identifying gaps, supporting content development, and overseeing virtual and in-person programs throughout the year. 

  • Home Therapies Committee: This committee reviews and develops education and resources related to ETC, PD, and Home Dialysis to support members' needs. 

  • Member Engagement Committee: Volunteers focus on member retention by demonstrating RHA membership value - including communications/newsletters, networking opportunities in person and virtually on Voices, and sharing resources and tools.  

  • MA Committee: Providing education and resources to the membership about MA plans' role in the ESRD environment.  Sharing operational and billing strategies to help hospital and independent dialysis providers navigate the different MA plans. 

  • Innovation Committee: This committee is developing tools and resources to improve members' and their organizations' operations and financial viability. Current projects include HIE Enhancements and the ESRD Billing Forum.

Statement on RHA Volunteering and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

RHA is committed to serving all those in our industries. RHA is dedicated to bettering our diversity, equity, and inclusion. It looks to embrace varied perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. RHA desires to remove barriers that prevent individuals from participating. RHA is looking to hear multiple viewpoints, provide opportunities to professionals in the industry, and find innovative solutions to better the industry for patients and providers. RHA needs volunteers from the whole team.

  • Diversity refers to a range of differences. This includes life experiences, gender, race, ethnicity, academic/ professional background, sexual orientation, age, disability status, or geographic location.
  • Equity refers to fairness and justice. It recognizes that not everyone starts at the same place, and adjustments are needed to fix the imbalance.
  • Inclusion is inviting and encouraging individuals in a consistent and open approach.
