This scholarship enables recipients to meet with elected officials, educate policymakers, and advocate for the needs of dialysis facilities and patients.

2025 Day on the Hill
Participants in Day on the Hill will engage with members of Congress and their staff to discuss the importance of independent, regional, and community-based dialysis providers. As an advocate, you will help reinforce RHA’s Advocacy Key Principles and share real-world insights on the challenges and successes within your facility. Scholarship Benefits
The Anthony J. Messana Scholarship recipient will attend the 2025 Day on the Hill and participate in related advocacy events. They will also stay engaged with the Renal Healthcare Association throughout the year, providing insights on key legislative and regulatory issues affecting their organization and the dialysis community. Additionally, recipients can invite their Representative, Senator, and/or congressional staff to tour their dialysis facility.

On August 20, 2018, the Board of Directors of the Renal Healthcare Association (RHA) recognized Anthony J. Messana for his significant contributions to the organization and his unwavering dedication to the kidney care community. With decades of involvement, Anthony demonstrated an extraordinary personal commitment to ensuring the voices of dialysis providers and patients were heard in the Halls of Congress.
To honor his advocacy efforts, RHA established this scholarship in his name, ensuring that his legacy continues to inspire and empower others to champion kidney care advocacy.
